I thought this report was interesting but without independent evidence from those actually living near this real mast - having used a microwave monitor confirming this mast was turned off day and night for 6 weeks - there is no proof that this mast was turned off as the company stated.

Laboratory tests using mocked up masts are not the same as living near a mast twenty four hours a day, as there will be many emission fluctuations from an actual mast in real time.

Some neighbours of mine were told a mast was turned off a few years back - before microwave monitors were easily available - and then when I managed to borrow such a monitor - I found the opposite to be the case. So, I personally could never accept a mobile phone company's statement that a mast was turned off unless I had checked for myself. Its a shame these poor people have not had that benefit.

Da kommt einem natürlich die Galle hoch, aber ...

Zu den Warnungen vor übertriebener Regulierung beim Weltwirtschaftsforum in Davos erklärt Axel Troost, Mitglied im Parteivorstand der Partei DIE LINKE:

Normalen Menschen kommt da natürlich die Galle hoch, wenn die Banker und Fondsmanager beim Weltwirtschaftsforum in Davos vor überzogener Regulierung der Finanzmärkte warnen. Es reicht aber nicht, sich darüber nur zu empören und markige Sprüche zu klopfen, wie es z.B. Nicolas Sarkozy in Davos und hierzulande auch gerne CDU/CSU, SPD und Liberale tun. Statt in Davos mit den Bankern nach Lösungen zu suchen, sollte die Politik endlich gegen die Interessen der Finanzindustrie handeln, systemrelevante Banken entflechten, den Finanzsektor kräftig schrumpfen und ihn unter gesellschaftliche Kontrolle bringen. Man muss das mal anders sehen: Diese Banker und Fondsmanager sind Menschen, denen über Jahre und Jahrzehnte die Welt zu Füßen lag. Auf ihre Rat- und Vorschläge haben liberale und konservative Politiker und die Sozialdemokratie der „Neuen Mitte“ mit fast spiritueller Verehrung gehört. Viele Banker sind nachvollziehbar menschlich enttäuscht, dass sie von ihren früheren Jüngern und Freunden aus der Politik nun nicht öffentlich in Schutz genommen, sondern abgekanzelt werden. Genau das bringt aber vor allem die Verlogenheit der neoliberalen Politiker zum Ausdruck. Mit ihren Tiraden gegen die Banken wollen neoliberale Politiker nur davon ablenken, dass sie selbst die politische Verantwortung für die globale Krise tragen. Wer Politik macht, trägt auch die Verantwortung dafür, auf wen man hört und was man glaubt. Vielleicht wird man in einigen Jahren zu der Einschätzung kommen, dass es einen neuen Tatbestand im Völkerrecht braucht: die vorsätzliche und fahrlässige Vernichtung der ökonomischen und ökologischen Lebensgrundlagen in Tateinheit mit Bildung einer verantwortungslosen Vereinigung von Finanzmarktgläubigen.
