McLean, Va.-based Freddie Mac (NYSE: FRE) reported a net loss of $25.3 billion, or $19.44 per diluted share, for the quarter ended September 30, 2008, compared to a net loss of $1.2 billion, or $2.07 per diluted common share, for the year ago quarter. … Freddie Mac stated that as a result of the net loss, the company’s net worth, also known as stockholders’ equity, was a negative $13.8 billion.
