This is an interesting article about cell phone antennas, which describes the problems affecting citizens of the United States of America. How a country, which claims to be the guardian of democracy in the world, can allow such un-democratic laws against its citizens, is appalling.

Some very ignorant comments have been left on the web site in response to this article. I encourage you to open the link to the story, contact the newspaper (Marblehead Reporter) and leave a message of support for the writer.

Protests have been made about a new Tetra mast planned for Bognor Regis. Telecom firm Airwave wants to put the controversial equipment on an existing mobile phone mast at Bognor FC's ground.

It intends to use the existing Vodafone equipment at the Nyewood Lane site for two panels for Tetra transmissions to the emergency services. These panels would be sited 8m above the ground. Two Airwave cabinets would also be installed on the ground.

Bognor Regis Town Council's planning and licensing committee has objected to the plans.

Villagers near Shrewsbury have criticised plans for a 12-metre high mobile phone mast which could be installed for use by police less than 500 metres from homes.

A site off Calcott Lane in Bicton Heath, has been identified by Airwave Solutions under a scheme to create a new national digital mobile network to replace the analogue one used by forces in the country.

But villagers are angry about the health and safety implications, particularly for their children as it would be close to a primary school, a pre-school and two special needs schools.

On the issue of cell phone antennas, Berkeley has been trying to walk a fine line between local protection of its citizens and obeying a federal statute which says that people’s health cannot be used as a reason for refusing permits to the communications industry with respect to its cell phone antenna towers. Recent arguments advanced by the State of Oklahoma might help resolve the issue for us.

THE oldest parish church in Ilford is at the centre of an unholy row after selling roof space to mobile phone giants Vodafone.

Unhappy neighbours of St Mary the Virgin Church, High Road, Great Ilford, told the Recorder of their disgust after learning the flag pole will be replaced by a mobile phone mast.
