IWF und Weltbank stünden seit Jahrzehnten für eine systematische Vernichtung kleinbäuerlicher Existenzen. So habe der IWF die Entwicklungsländer mit Strukturanpassungsmaßnahmen gezwungen, ihre gesamte Landwirtschaft auf den Export auszurichten und für billige Importe zu öffnen. Großflächige Monokulturen hätten den Anbau für den Eigenbedarf sowie lokale Märkte verdrängt, so Eberhardt. "Billigimporte taten ihr Übriges, um den Landwirten im Süden ihre Existenz zu rauben."
